Who is No Sweaters?

In a nutshell, we are Sean Neden (DrivingPricing.com creator) and Dave Drew. We're just a couple of dudes who ran into each other at a neighborhood beer club a few years back, and at some point, decided to try our hats at this crazy web entrepreneur thing, being a couple of web developers ourselves. Months of sore hands, late nights, and zombie mornings later, this site sits before you.

What's the deal with this site?

The deal is, we think current gift idea sites are fairly flawed. They break people down into obnoxiously generalized categories, like "Teens", "Creative Thinker", "Devoted Dad", and so forth. We think people are more nuanced than that, and we think finding a gift for someone feels nicer when it's a bit more personal.

Who comes up with the gift ideas?

You do. And he does. And she does. You all do.

From the get-go, we wanted to create an experience that made giving gift ideas feel rewarding and fun. We "gamified" it a bit, but we've found thus far that people really get a kick out of just giving a really good idea to someone else, and feeling like they helped someone out who needed help. One of our early users described it as, "The feeling of buying the perfect gift for someone without spending any money."

How can this possibly work?

To be honest, we're still kinda figuring out that details on this. We have a pretty good idea of how it should work. For starters, our form for submitting a new gift idea request is built around helping people who need gift ideas think about the person they're buying for in a detailed way. The flow is very much like a casual conversation you might expect if asking a friend or coworker what gift to get for someone. Then the site's community base can contribute ideas, and vote them up if they like the idea for that particular person.
